Oh, So Nice

“Oh, So Nice!” is a song composed by George Gershwin, with lyrics by Ira Gershwin. It was introduced by Gertrude Lawrence and Paul Frawley in the 1928 musical Treasure Girl (source Wikipedia).

Here it is performed by the Munich Swing Orchestra.

The pictures below courtesy of YF Yin are also nice.

As you can see great effort over the last couple of weeks had gone into sprucing up the area around Seri Santai to present a good picture for the directors and senior executives from GCD’s headquarters when they visit next week (Tuesday, March 26, I believe – remember guys). Even the old boats are covered up -something we have never seen before!

Also, most of the construction and other debris featured in the post New broom does not sweep Clean have been cleared. The bath tub is gone! Common areas like the lagoons have also been attended to. Some of the muck in these pictures presented to GCD on March 4 have also been attended to. The six million ringgit question is how do we get the HQ people to visit more often?

Finally, a message from Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales:

Wikipedia is the #5 site on the web and serves 450 million different people every month – with billions of page views.

Commerce is fine. Advertising is not evil. But it doesn’t belong here. Not in Wikipedia.

Wikipedia is something special. It is like a library or a public park. It is like a temple for the mind. It is a place we can all go to think, to learn, to share our knowledge with others.

When I founded Wikipedia, I could have made it into a for-profit company with advertising banners, but I decided to do something different. We’ve worked hard over the years to keep it lean and tight. We fulfill our mission efficiently.

If everyone reading this donated RM20, our fundraiser would be done within an hour. But not everyone can or will donate. And that’s fine. Each year just enough people decide to give.

This year, please consider making a donation of RM20, RM30, RM50 or whatever you can to protect and sustain Wikipedia.

Thanks,

Jimmy Wales
Wikipedia Founder

I have donated because it is a worthy cause. This is probably the Mother of all Links: https://donate.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:FundraiserLandingPage?uselang=en&country=MY&template=Lp-layout-default&appeal-template=Appeal-template-default&appeal=Appeal-default&infobox=Default&form-template=Form-template-default&form-countryspecific=Form-countryspecific-control&utm_medium=sitenotice&utm_source=B13_031900_bluln_Cntrl_nd_enYY&utm_campaign=C13_wpnd_enWW_FR

Maybe we should invite MPK Enforcement Div to visit and look see how MPK Building Byelaws are being followed!! The back extension to house on Bayu1 is clearly less than the stipulated 5-6feet from the fence. Maybe that is not as bad as that other 3storey house!

Eh!? how come GCD magically found the logic, heart, brains and most importantly the money to carry out proper maintenance? Wah! new tarpaulin for the boats, lawns evenly cut, roads look like the first day of srping. I would like to invite the HQ fellas to my house, then maybe my grass verge will be cut, my drains will be unclogged, the road infront will be leaf free as well. Then I will bring the people from HQ for a tour to the play ground, boardwalk, jetty, lagoon…. drive them out of GC’s one and only entrance/exit to port klang for some nice seafood. THEN MAYBE all these areas will also be given the attention they should. While having seafood with our esteemed guest… I will explain to them how GCD has been enjoying gaji buta all this while and saying that they have been working hard to pam tayar keretapi.
