I should be tired and sick of tackling this issue, but we have to keep trying. Who knows, but we may be saving the lives of our loved ones.
I said at the end of this post that we will take another look at the issue of traffic safety for residents when we leave by the only exit point we have on Jalan Telok Gong.
We still do not have a clue what we are going to have – traffic lights or speed humps on Jalan Telok Gong – if anything at all and the timing. It is a total uncertainty at this point. We have also made the suggestion to GCD that they should consider bringing forward the construction of the road from P2 to P4, which they have to build eventually, so there is another safer exit via Jalan Pandamaran (at the end of P4).
So I have written to JKR today and the English text is reproduced below. The BM version sent to JKR can be downloaded in the box.net widget on the right (file name GCROA-JKR_3_BM). I hope more residents will write to these officials directly to increase the pressure. The GCROA is also open to suggestions from members on actions willing to take.

PER : Lampu Isyarat atau Bonggol di Hadapan Pintu Masuk Glenmarie Cove
We are writing to you to place on record that no progress has been shown in resolving the concern Residents in Glenmarie Cove have over the dangers we face when exiting the premises at the Jalan Telok Gong entrance.
In the letter issued by your department on 15 March,2012 to Glenmarie Cove Development Sdn Bhd, you provided the following statement:
“Berkaitan permohonan tuan untuk memohon bonggol dan garisan kuningsebagai langkah keselematan, pejabat ini berpendapat, untuk meningkatkan langkah keselematan, sewarjarnya Lampu Isyarat di persimpangan tersebut di bina sebagaimana perkara 2(b) di atas.”
Your department has directed GCD to terms and condition issued back in 2002 which remain unfulfilled.
We are not privy to the traffic impact assessment studies that have been conducted and which have been submitted to you. GCD and JKR can discuss these studies as long as you both desire but bear in mind that that residents risk their lives daily crossing into Jalan Telok Gong as you both dither. We therefore urge you to exercise your statutory duty and authority to help us overcome the danger we face.
Accidents are waiting to happen and lives could be at stake. We represent the residents of Glenmarie Cove and feel it is important that we place our concern in writing to both GCD and JKR, yet again.
